Our Education Experiences

Experience Wellington for Schools

We welcome over 80,000 school children to our six sites every year.
Our award-winning experiences each provide curriculum-linked learning programmes led by staff who inspire, engage and challenge the students they meet.

In accordance with the Vulnerable Children Act 2014, please see HERE for a copy of our Child Protection Policy.

Visiting the Capital

Bringing a school group to the coolest little capital can be daunting. We want to make it as easy as possible for teachers to get the most out of a visit to Wellington, so Experience Wellington has produced a range of resources for teachers:

  • A guide to activities, events, accommodation and transport (WellingtonNZ.com)
  • Three trail sheets to guide students around the city and learn about the sites, stories and symbols all around them
  • A planning tool: ChangeAgents, that connects the concepts of citizenship and commemoration to pre and post visit lessons
