Visiting Experience Wellington sites at alert level 2 

To keep everyone safe when visiting any of our facilities or venues under Alert level 2:   

  • Wear a mask if you are 12 years and over – unless you hold an exemption from the Ministry of Health Covid-19 website. You can remove masks to eat and drink.   
  • Most customer facing staff will also be wearing masks unless they are not required to for safety reasons. 
  • Scanning or signing in is a condition of entry for all Experience Wellington facilities and venues. This applies to visitors, contractors and couriers entering our spaces. 
  • Most sites will need to limit the number of visitors to provide 2 metres social distancing for them – please follow the signs and guidance of our staff.
  • Use EFTPOS or other contactless payments if you can. We will accept cash but prefer not to for hygiene reasons.
  • Please follow the guidance of our staff and signage to keep everyone safe when sharing our spaces. 

Our operating procedures may change as the Health Order we are following has not been released by central government, this guidance may be subject to change. Please check our website for the latest information.

FAQs 

Will I be refused entry for not signing in/wearing a mask?
Scanning or signing in is a condition of entry for all Experience Wellington facilities and venues. This applies to visitors, contractors and couriers entering our spaces. 

Why do I need to wear a mask?
Wearing a mask will be required when visiting any Experience Wellington facility or venue. This is to protect all visitors to our sites and enable effective contact tracing if Covid is discovered in Wellington. 

Some people will be exempt from wearing a mask. If you are, please show our staff member the exemption card you can download from the Ministry of Health Covid-19 website.

What if I forget or lose my mask on the way to the site?
When you arrive please ask our staff member if there is a disposable mask you can purchase at cost. Please note, not all facilities will have masks available for sale.  

Are all Council sites limited to 50 people at one time?
Some sites will need to limit the number of visitors to provide 2 metres social distancing, so there may be some queues.

Please follow the signs and guidance of our staff to stay 2 metres apart while queuing and thank you for your patience. 

Why do I have to scan or sign in? How safe is my information?
Scanning or signing in is a condition on entry to all Experience Wellington sites and venues. This applies to visitors, contractors and couriers entering our spaces.  This follows the Ministry of Health (MOH) guidance for the types of businesses listed below.

If you scan in using the Covid tracing app the visit to the site is recorded on your phone. The Ministry of Health will contact you if there is a possible case at the time of your visit.

If you don’t have a smartphone or prefer not to use apps, there will an alternate way of signing in, such as register. Any information collected is kept confidential, before being destroyed securely after 60 days as required under the MOH guidelines.
