We offer incredible audience experiences across our six locations; City Gallery Wellington, Capital E, Wellington Museum, Space Place, Cable Car Museum and Nairn Street Cottage.

Our Public Programmes team works together within and across teams internally and externally to develop and deliver a vibrant public programme of talks, lectures, performances, workshops and events, and community partnerships that draws in diverse audiences to understand, enjoy, and form a deeper appreciation of our experiences. We bring a te ao Māori dimension to everything we do.

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced creative professional with deep programming experience, who has a keen awareness of how to engage a range of audiences in cultural experiences, and is an uber-organiser and leader, with strong project, budget, programme and team management experience.

This newly established senior management-level role needs you to put audiences at the heart of everything we do, work in partnership with communities and arts practitioners, and have your finger on the pulse of best practice in participation and engagement. . Your experience with public programmes and audience insights will see you pioneer and develop a fresh consolidated programme that leverages your team’s unique skills and point of view, within budget and in a planned, targeted manner.

As the central point of contact for the team you will be a key connector from our ELT to audiences on the ground, engaging your team in a clear and connected programme across all sites.
