Permanent Part-time – 20 hours per week.
As a small organisation we punch above our weight, working together with and for Wellington to create remarkable experiences that generate vitality, strengthening the city we love. We offer incredible audience experiences across our six locations; City Gallery Wellington, Capital E, Wellington Museum, Space Place, Cable Car Museum and Nairn Street Cottage.
Our Public Programmes team works together within and across teams internally and externally to develop and deliver a vibrant public programme of community engagement and learning activities that draws in diverse audiences to understand, enjoy, and form a deeper appreciation of our experiences. We bring a te ao māori dimension to everything we do.
The role is mainly based at Museums Wellington, working across sites such as Wellington Museum, Nairn Street Cottage and Cable Car Museum. We are looking for a committed, enthusiastic and engaging specialist to develop and implement a range of engaging public experiences across our diverse audience groups, with a focus on museum and history experiences. You will know these experiences better than anyone and ensure everything and everyone is in place to provide consistent and engaging experiences every time. Your excellent organisational skills will facilitate the smooth running of events and programmes on the ground.
You will be excited about the opportunity to open up the collections, objects and expertise of each site in a range of events, lectures, talks, performances and other events, and will have good networks with practitioners and potential partners to increase our reach and our audiences
This is an exciting time to join our programming team who are focused on connecting our programmes across our sites, leveraging the diverse skill sets of our people to develop and deliver a vibrant programme that flourishes for and with our audiences of Te Upoko o te Ika.
