City Gallery Wellington Te Whare Toi is seeking an energetic Visitor Services and Functions Coordinator to support our daily operations. This is a busy role, perfect for an individual who thrives in an environment with exhibitions and programmes that change regularly and new events that are always developing. As someone with a background in customer service, events and retail, you will thrive on the challenge of working within a small team to assist in the continuing development of our visitor services and commercial operations.
Your outstanding organisational skills will ensure the smooth operation of the public facing functions of City Gallery. You will have excellent working relationships with all staff, and will support and mentor our diverse visitor services team modelling best practices in customer service and providing advice, training, and daily work direction.
Your substantial events experience will ensure that all venue hire events are well supported and exceed client expectations. You’ll also support our busy public programmes team by organising appropriate staff and resources as necessary.
Excellent communication and planning skills are vital in this role. You will need to be a confident public speaker as this is one of the most visible roles at City Gallery Wellington.
The position involves regular evening and weekend work. Generally 40 hours per week Sunday to Thursday. Flexibility is essential.
